Annual Reviews will move all journals
to Subscribe to Open for 2023
|
We would like to inform you that Annual Reviews has decided to move all their journals to the Subscribe to Open model starting with 2023.
Subscribe to Open is a subscription model under which institutions that already know and value Annual Reviews content simply continue to subscribe. As long as subscription revenues are maintained, the year’s volume will be published open access and the back volumes made freely available. If subscription revenue is insufficient to cover costs, the paywall to the volume will be reinstated.
By subscribing to journals which have adopted the Subscribe to Open model, libraries can demonstrate their commitment to Open Access and support APC free Open Access publishing options for researchers from institutions worldwide. This approach ensures openness and equitable access for both – authors and readers – to high quality research publications. Subscribe to Open is endorsed by OA2020 and cOAlition S.
Subscribing institutions will have guaranteed access as well as permanent data rights to the content. Active subscribers will also benefit from access to Reviews in Advance and enhanced back volume availability. The good news is that if you maintain your subscriptions and the model is successful, you will have access to additional Annual Reviews content.
