HARRASSOWITZ is pleased to announce yet another publishing partnership in connection with the discontinuation of individual e-book sales through ProQuest Ebook Central.

We are delighted to announce that e-books purchased through unlimited-access plans on ProQuest Ebook Central can now also be made available in the Mohr Siebeck eLibrary at no additional cost.

As an extra benefit, the e-books provided can be made available to an unlimited number of concurrent users, regardless of which unlimited access model was originally selected.

How does this work?

Simply send us a list of the relevant e-books from your OPAC system, and HARRASSOWITZ will be happy to contact the publisher in order to make all further arrangements for the titles to be made available in the publisher's e-library.

Single title e-book purchases through HARRASSOWITZ

Mohr Siebeck also offers single title e-book purchases through HARRASSOWITZ. All individual e-books available for purchase in the Mohr Siebeck eLibrary can be searched directly in Fokus, the HARRASSOWITZ system for acquisition and management of scholarly resources.

The 2026 Fiesole Retreat will be held from April 13 to 15 at the University of Tübingen, Germany.
The theme of this year’s meeting is “May you live in interesting times – access and sustainability: developing strategies to deal with uncertainties.”

Fokus Update

Approval Plan Budget Information Now Available in Fokus

With the latest update of Fokus, the HARRASSOWITZ system for acquisition and management of scholarly resources, customers with Approval Plans can now monitor their current budget status in real time.

The displayed data reflect the active fiscal year and provide a clear breakdown of key financial metrics, including invoiced amounts, items ready to be supplied, and the remaining budget available until the end of the fiscal period.

Users can also view the date when invoicing for the current fiscal year is finalized and review general settings such as which customer codes are included within a given budget.

The new feature has been added to the Approval Plan tab in Fokus. Simply click the Budget Info button to navigate to the overview. Please note that budget information is only available if you have assigned an amount to your Approval Plan profile.

Access to this information is controlled through user permissions. By default, only the Fokus coordinator can view approval plan budget details. However, additional users can be granted visibility through permission settings.
