| New Fokus for Music features now available
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
As one of the world’s leading and most trusted suppliers of music scores and music books, we’ve now developed Fokus for Music, a suite of features especially designed to support music librarians as they are working in Fokus, the HARRASSOWITZ system for acquisition and management of scholarly resources.
Please note that many of these features such as the advanced search, spelling variations, and real-time management reports also benefit all Fokus users.
What is new?- On the search bar you are now able to switch to the Fokus Music Search which automatically limits your search result to music scores, music books, and other music related material.
- The search has been enhanced by an Advanced Search which now allows you to search for titles with very specific criteria, e.g. collected editions or certain instrumentations.
- When searching, Fokus will automatically search for Spelling Variations of the same search term, this includes different spellings of composer names as well as translations for common instrumentations: a search for "clarinet" will also find titles which only contain the German "Klarinette".
- The search result has been enhanced with two new filters for Authors/Composers and our HARRASSOWITZ Diversity Criteria.
- In cases where different instrumentations are available for the same title, you will now find those conveniently listed within the Title Options table, simply click on the "Show more options" link when available.
- On the Approval Plans tab you now have interactive access to our extensive List of 20th and 21st-century composers. This includes information about birth dates, HARRASSOWITZ diversity criteria and received awards.
- Last but not least, you are now able to retrieve Real-time Management Reports for your firm orders and approval plans. This also includes the possibility to request a Not on Order List for DEI material. The management reports can be found within the Collection Analysis section. Please note that the request for management reports is a separate permission - you have to add the permission (within the Manage Logins section) to the users of your account in order to allow them to request management reports by themselves.
