| HARRASSOWITZ Passes Audit for ISO 9001:2015 Certificate
|
|
|
In November 2016, HARRASSOWITZ passed the annual audit for the ISO 9001:2015 certificate. ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized quality management system framework that allows companies to meet customer expectations and achieve customer satisfaction. Introduced in November 2015, the new ISO 9001:2015 has brought significant changes: In addition to a new structure – the "High Level Structure", which is to be implemented in all management system standards in the future –, some of the old requirements have been modified or cancelled and significant new requirements have been added. After a transition period of three years, all certificates have to follow the new norm, making HARRASSOWITZ one of the first companies to be audited under these new requirements.
HARRASSOWITZ’s latest certification is the result of an intensive review conducted by TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH, one of the world’s leading technical service organizations, and acknowledges the company’s continued efforts to monitor improvements and foster progress in the provision of electronic and print resources to academic and research libraries.
The review included an assessment of HARRASSOWITZ’s business processes, an evaluation of the company’s records and databases, and interviews with HARRASSOWITZ staff. It specifically highlighted the intensive and excellent training of new personnel, the continuous documentation and monitoring of customer satisfaction, our innovative databases, and efficient internal communication.
