HARRASSOWITZ Attends the Annual ARLIS/NA Conference in New Orleans
Join HARRASSOWITZ at the 45th Annual Conference of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) February 5-9, 2017, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans, LA. This year’s theme “Arts du Monde” encompasses the collaborative, diverse, and global nature of the host city and highlights innovative and practical solutions in the fields of web archiving, linked open data, digital art history, and open access publishing in the visual arts.

Exhibit hours are:
Tuesday, February 7, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Wednesday, February 8, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

2017 HARRASSOWITZ Award for Leadership in Library Acquisitions Winner Announced
The HARRASSOWITZ Award for Leadership in Library Acquisitions Jury has selected Kristen Wilson, Associate Head, Acquisitions and Discovery (Serials) at North Carolina State University as the winner of this year’s HARRASSOWITZ Award for Leadership in Library Acquisitions. Presented by the Acquisitions Section for contributions by, and outstanding leadership of, an individual in the field of acquisitions librarianship, the award consists of a monetary reward donated by HARRASSOWITZ in honor of Dr. Knut Dorn, former Managing Director. Ms. Wilson will be presented with the award at the 2017 ALA Annual Conference’s ALCTS Award Ceremony in Chicago, IL.

HARRASSOWITZ is once again sponsoring the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) Online Course “Fundamentals of Electronic Resources Acquisitions”. Held five times during 2017, the course is open to anyone interested in electronic resource acquisitions. No prior experience is required. The course provides a basic background on acquiring electronic resources, including product trials, licensing, purchasing methods, and pricing models, and also covers the relationships among vendors, publishers, platform providers, and libraries.
