| The HARRASSOWITZ Award for Leadership In Library Acquisitions
|
Nominations are being accepted for the 2020 Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) awards for professional recognition, including The HARRASSOWITZ Award for Leadership In Library Acquisitions.
The deadline for nominations and supporting materials is December 1st.
Presented by the Acquisitions Section for contributions by an outstanding leadership of an individual in the field of acquisitions librarianship, the award consists of $1,500 donated by HARRASSOWITZ in honor of Dr. Knut Dorn, former managing partner. Winners will be chosen based on demonstrated leadership that has contributed significantly to: improvements in acquisitions; and achievement in the field of acquisitions through contributions to professional associations, literature, the education of acquisitions professionals and the advancement of the profession.

| Microbiology Society’s new Publish & Read Initiative
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| HARRASSOWITZ is pleased to offer our customers the new Publish & Read option of the Microbiology Society for 2020 onwards:
|
The agreement comprises access to all paywalled content from the Microbiology Society’s subscription journals.
Furthermore, all accepted articles where the corresponding author is affiliated with a participating university will be published immediately Open Access (OA) using a CC-BY Licence. The OA publication will be in one of the journals of the publisher’s portfolio of four hybrid and two full OA journals without further costs.

| The Microbiology Society’s Publish & Read option is available at a fixed-price package deal of GBP 8,500 / USD 12,000 per academic institute for 2020.
